  1. The William Hill Fantasy World Cup Online competition (the "Competition") is promoted, operated and hosted at www.williamhillfantasy.com (the "Website"), by William Hill Credit Limited ("William Hill") a limited company registered in and operating solely from the United Kingdom. It is a condition of entry of the Competition that these terms and conditions ("Terms and Conditions") together with the rules of the game ("Rules") which can be found on the Website (together referred to as the "Competition Terms") are accepted, and by entering into the Competition the entrant accepts and agrees to abide by the Competition Terms. In the case of any inconsistency between the Rules and the Terms and Conditions set out below, these Terms and Conditions shall prevail.
  2. Entries are accepted online at the Website only by entrants completing the sign-up form, opening their Competition account and selecting their team(s) in accordance with the Rules. Entrants must have access to the internet in order to participate in the Competition. Entry to the Competition is free and no purchase is necessary.
  3. Entries must be made before 4pm British Summer Time ("BST") on 9th June 2006. The Competition will close at the end of the last game of the 2006 World Cup, scheduled for 9th July 2006.
  4. It is at the discretion of William Hill to close entry earlier than 4pm BST, 9th June 2006, any such early closure will be indicated on the Website.
  5. Each individual participating in the Competition may select up to three teams. Fraudulent, illegible, illegal or incorrectly completed entries will be disqualified, as will any entry made in breach or non-compliance with the Competition Terms. The decision of William Hill is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  6. The Competition is only open to people aged 18 or over and resident in jurisdictions in which free entry fantasy football competitions are not banned by applicable law (if any). It shall be the responsibility of applicants to make their own enquiries as to whether such competitions are permissible in their own jurisdiction. Each person should ensure that he or she would be acting legally in that jurisdiction in entering the Competition.
  7. Only players listed on the Website may be selected, subject to the restrictions outlined in the Rules.
  8. Entrants shall not select a team name which is defamatory or which William Hill in its sole discretion deems offensive, indecent or otherwise inappropriate.
  9. No amendments can be made to selections after 4 pm on 9th June 2006, excepting transfers made in accordance with the Rules.
  10. Entrants shall not receive any points in respect of any player not selected for their 2006 World Cup national squad.
  11. Submission of entries will not constitute proof of receipt and no responsibility will be accepted by William Hill for entries which it does not receive. William Hill shall not be liable for any loss or corruption of data in transit.
  12. Please enter your email address correctly as neither William Hill nor its agents can be liable for failing to notify winners in the event that an incorrect address has been provided.
  13. William Hill shall not be liable for technical, hardware or software failures of any kind or lost or unavailable network conditions which may limit or prohibit ability to enter or participate in the Competition. William Hill shall not be liable for damage, or loss or injury resulting from entry to the Competition, failure to win, acceptance or use of any prize, but nothing in these Competition Terms shall operate to exclude liability for death or personal injury resulting from William Hill's own negligence.
  14. William Hill reserves the right to verify the eligibility of entrants and check their identity. Winners of prizes will be required to supply their postal address for identification and age verification purposes.
  15. Without prejudice to the generality of Clauses 17 and 25 below, in the event of any of the following, entries will be deemed void in the sole discretion of William Hill and no correspondence will be entered into:

    In the event of any of the following, the entry will be void and no correspondence will be entered into:

    1. Multiple registrations by an individual or body;
    2. Where a team name is deemed by William Hill to be inappropriate or offensive; and/or
    3. Where the entrant has otherwise acted in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner.

  16. Official match timings and reports will be used for point scoring purposes.
  17. All winning claims will be validated and any entry found by William Hill in its sole discretion not to comply with the Competition Terms.
  18. Employees, officers, directors, agents, representatives and their immediate family members (and those living in the same household) of William Hill, their advertising and promotion agencies or any person or entity connected with the production, administration or judging of the Competition, or any of their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, agents or representatives, are ineligible to enter this Competition and are not eligible to win.
  19. Prizes will be awarded to the highest scoring with the most points in the Competition after the 2006 World Cup has finished. If two or more entries share the same number of points for any prize, the following methods will be used to determine the winners until there is only one winner of each prize:


    1. The entrant closest to the total number of goals scored in the World Cup tournament (not including penalty shoot-outs) as predicted on entry.
    2. If there is still no winner after (a) then, the entrant with the highest total number of goals scored in the 2006 World Cup by the players in the tying entrant's team (not including penalty shoot-outs).
    3. If there is still no winner, the winner shall be determined by a ballot of entries that remain tied after (a) and (b).

  20. The winning prize for the most points is £10,000, the prize for the 2nd highest points scorer is £5,000, 3rd prize is £3,000, 4th prize is £2,000. There are 5 runner-up prizes of £1000.
  21. Any prize winners not resident in the United Kingdom will receive the Euro or US Dollar equivalent.
  22. William Hill is not responsible for any payment of any taxes or other costs associated with the receipt of any prizes.
  23. All winners will also be notified by email on or before 24th July using the email address submitted on entry. All prize winners must respond within 30 days in order to claim a prize, failing which the prize will be forfeited. Winners may be required to take part in publicity and by entering the Competition, entrants agree that William Hill (or any third party nominated by William Hill) may use the entrant's name, voice, likeness and image and their comments relating to the prizes (described above) and Competition experience for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes in any media worldwide without notice or without any fee being due or paid.
  24. The winners' name and country will be available on request by sending a stamped addressed envelope to the promoter's address (below).
  25. In the event of any decision or dispute regarding to the validity of any entry, the eligibility of any entrant, the points awarded in accordance with the Rules and the eligibility for any prizes, the decision of William Hill will be final and no correspondence shall be entered into.
  26. By entering the Competition, you consent to your personal data being collected and processed by STATS LLC, located in the United States, on behalf of William Hill. You should be aware that other countries may not have data protection laws in place and may provide a level of data protection that is less beneficial than that applying in the UK. William Hill will use reasonable endeavours to procure that STATS LLC will only use your personal data for the purpose of processing your entry to the Competition, administering your entry(ies) and for any other purpose(s) for which you consent. STATS LLC will pass your details on to William Hill. William Hill will use your personal data for the purpose of selecting winners of the Competition, validating and notifying winners and for any other purpose(s) for which you consent. Entrants' personal data will only otherwise be used in accordance with William Hill's privacy policy. William Hill's privacy policy can be viewed at the Website. William Hill will only use entrants' data to send information of offers or services that may be of interest to the entrant from time to time by email, sms or post or pass entrants' data to carefully selected third parties in accordance with the marketing preferences that they have selected. To opt-out of receiving any marketing communications from William Hill, entrants can amend their marketing preferences at any time by sending an email customerservices@williamhill.co.uk. To request that William Hill does not continue to provide personal data to any third parties for marketing purposes entrants should send an email setting this out to customerservices@williamhill.co.uk.
  27. William Hill reserves the right to cancel this Competition or amend the Competition Terms without liability and without notice in the event of circumstances outside its control, including without limitation, a major catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, earthquake or any actual, anticipated or alleged breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other similar event.
  28. The Competition Terms shall be exclusively governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England unless the entrant is a Scottish resident in which case the entrant may choose the law of their residence. The entrant irrevocably submits to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales unless they are a Scottish resident or a resident of Northern Ireland in which case the entrant may choose the courts of their place of residence.
