Eligibility
The following game rules ("Rules") govern the operation of the William Hill Fantasy World Cup Online competition (the "Competition"). The terms and conditions which govern the Competition generally (including, without limitation with respect to eligibility and prizes) ("Terms and Conditions") can be found at www.williamhillfantasy.com(the "Website"). In the case of any inconsistency between the Terms and Conditions and the Rules set out below, the Terms and Conditions shall prevail.
To Enter
You may enter the Competition by registering and then submitting up to three teams. Choose eleven (11) players for your team by selecting one (1) player from each of the eleven (11) groups displayed on the Website. You must choose your initial roster only from players listed in these groups. Additional players will not be added to the groups once the 2006 World Cup has started. Players are only eligible from the groups as listed.
PLEASE NOTE: Player groupings are broadly based on the skill of the player, i.e. the goalkeepers are listed in Group 1, the best defenders in group 2, next best defenders in group 3, etc. The 11-player team must consist of:
1 Goalkeeper 4 Defenders 4 Midfielders 2 Forwards
Note : A maximum of three players only, may be selected from any one country/team.
Transfers
Prior to the start of the 2006 World Cup, transfers of selected players are unlimited and can be made at anytime from the time you enter the Competition until 4 pm on June 9, 2006. After 4 pm on June 9, transfers will be limited as follows. Transfers may be made at any time up to one hour prior to the first match played on any given day and all changes will go into effect for that day's matches. Any transfer made after that deadline will go into effect the following day. Each user is limited to a TOTAL of eight (8) player transfers during the Group Stage (which for these purposes shall be from 4pm on June 9 until 1 hour before the first match on June 23). After 8 transfers have been made during the Group Stage, no more transfers will be allowed until the end of the Group Stage. Any unused player transfers will NOT be carried over to the next stage. Each user is limited to a TOTAL of four (4) player transfers during the Knockout Stage (from 1 hour after the last match on June 23 until 1 hour before the final on July 9). After 4 player transfers have been made during the Knockout Stage, no more transfers will be allowed for the remainder of the Competition. Your score for each stage of the 2006 World Cup (whether the "Group Stage" or the "Knock-out Stage") is calculated according to the total number of points each player in your line-up(s) earns in matches actually played during that stage.
If you submit a line-up with less than eleven players or any players are selected in violation of these Rules, you will only receive points based on the performance of the properly selected players.
Each individual participating in the Competition may select up to a maximum of three team line-ups. In the event that a match does not take place as scheduled, no points will be awarded in respect of such match, save that William Hill reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to treat any rescheduled match as if it was the originally scheduled match and award points in respect of the players in such rescheduled match accordingly.
